Oman’s tourism industry is all set for a boost as the nation’s latest entrant in the aviation sector – Al Sharqiya Aviation – begins its operations with a fleet of helicopters.
The private operator aims to provide its services to the tourism sector; offering trips to tourists from Qantab to Muttrah via Al Khiran in its first phase.
It also offers chartering services of helicopters.
In an interview with Al Wisal, Y’s sister radio station, Abdullah al Ghazali, the operations and training director of the company said: “Al Sharqiya Aviation provides chartering services of helicopters across Oman.
“Individuals can rent a helicopter with a capacity of five passengers from Al Sharqiya Aviation to fly to anywhere – even unreachable places – after ensuring all safety procedures for the required flight is met in coordination with the concerned authorities in Oman,” he explained.
The company also provides services to media production companies for aerial photography, transferring of equipment and commercial services, among several other services.
