Oman’s inflation rate falls in September

Oman’s rate of inflation in September 2019 decreased by 0.56 per cent compared to that of August 2019 as per the latest statistics data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, reports Al Wisal 96.5 FM.



The decline in the price index in September 2019, compared to last year’s figures from September 2018 , saw a decrease in amounts across major groups – led by the transportation sector with a price decrease of 2.57 per cent, while other groups registered an increase in price led by the tobacco sector at 92.52 per cent.

Among the Governorates, Dhofar recorded the highest rate of increase in inflation by 0.48 per cent, followed by the Governorates of Al Dharah, Al-Sharqiyah North, Al Sharqiyah-South, and Al-Batinah North.
