Tropical depression develops into storm in Arabian Sea

September 2019, Muscat, (Al Wisal): Latest weather maps and forecasts from the National Multi Hazard Early Warning System (NMHEWS) show that the deep tropical depression heading towards the center of the Arabian Sea has developed into a tropical storm, and was given the name ‘Hika’. 



The wind speed around the center is 30-40 knots northwest, with the distance between the center of the storm and the coasts of the Sultanate being 760 km.
