September 2019, Muscat: As part of its exerting efforts to provide opportunities for local companies to have their share in new markets globally, the Sultanate of Oman, represented by Muscat Security Market (MSM), will host the inaugural meeting of Elite Program (ELITE) on Monday.
The meeting will be organized by the London Stock Exchange in cooperation with Al-Yafi Office of Lebanon at the Sheraton Hotel in Oman.
The Sultanate of Oman is one of the first countries to launch the elite program regionally, where the program will provide an opportunity for companies to enter new markets and facilitate the increase of its capital. The program is one of the main pillars that could ensure the continuity of the companies.
The program targets family businesses and SMEs in Oman, while discussing the possibilities to ensure the sustainability of a company’s business through adopting international standards.
The Elite Program is one of the global platforms with a membership of 1,100 companies from 40 countries. It covers 36 sectors and they include industry, technology, services, health, education, finance, transportation and gas and communications, with an average revenue of 81 billion euros.
Many economic observers are considering Elite Program as an advanced platform that can enhance competition in several areas, including governance, strategic planning, effective leadership, sustainability, business development and economic initiatives.
Instructors and specialists from London Stock Exchange will attend the meeting in three basic stages. These stages aim to qualify and train senior leaders in the participating companies in order to discover investment opportunities, and to train executive departments on how to prepare qualified individuals to join a company’s leadership.
A number of decision-makers from the legislative and regulatory bodies are also expected to attend the program, along with several chairmen of family companies, funds, SMEs and investment companies who are working in the field of securities.
