Oman to participate in China-Arab States Expo

August 2019, Muscat : The Sultanate of Oman is set to participate in the fourth China-Arab States Expo (CASE) from 5-8 September 2019. It will be held in Yinchuan, the capital of Northwest China’s Ningxia Hui autonomous region.

The Sultanate’s delegation to CASE will be headed by H E. Yahya bin Said Al- Jabri, chairman of General Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Ithraa) and the Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZA).

This year’s theme is called “New Opportunity, New Future,” and will explore cooperation opportunities between Chinese and Arab states in areas such as trade and investment, Internet Plus, cross-border e-commerce, infrastructure, and capacity cooperation.

The Sultanate’s participation aims to promote Oman’s economic potential and competitive advantages in order to attract more Chinese investment. It also aims to meet with businessmen & representatives of major Chinese companies in the industrial, logistics, tourism, mining, scientific research and technology sectors.

Six exhibitions, eight investment and trade facilitation activities and four conferences and forums will be held at the expo, while 73 foreign business associations and enterprises have preliminarily confirmed their attendance.

Commenting on the Sultanate’s participation, Nassima Bint Yahya Zerouk Al Baluoshi, Director General of Investment and Exports at Ithraa said, “This participation is a confirmation of the depth of economic relations of Oman with the People’s Republic of China.”

Al Baluoshi also added that there are promising opportunities for Chinese companies to invest in Oman, while such meetings will push the two sides to further cooperation and strengthen economic partnerships.

The delegation of Oman includes representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Public Establishment for Industrial Estates ‘Madaen’, Oman International Logistics Group ‘Asyad’, Al-Zubair Group, Oman Aviation Group, Port of Duqm Company & Quarries and the Omani Chinese Friendship Association.
