Entrance to Jebel Akhdar, one of Oman’s most popular tourist attractions is still free, according to Ahmed Al Shukaili, Director of Natural Reserves at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs.

The clarification comes after a confusion that was caused by the ministry’s recent decision to impose entrance fees on visitors to the Jebel Akhdar Nature Reserve, which is a vicinity located within the area of the mountain.

The cost, as mentioned in the recent decision, will be RO1 for Omani adults and RO5 for non-Omanis, while camping will cost RO5 for Omanis and RO10 for non-Omanis.

More than 11,000 tourists visited Jebel Akhdar during the Eid Al Fitr holidays (4-8 June), according to figures released by the Ministry of Tourism.
