The telecom industry of Oman is heating up as British telecom operator, Vodafone, will soon begin operations in the country.
The MoU was reportedly signed by the Royal Court of Oman and the company after an intense tendering process.
The giants have come on top of competitors such as Saudi Telecom (STC), Kuwait’s Zain, Sudan’s Sudatel, Etisalat, Orange, Telefonica, Deutsche Telekom, and Telenor.
It is reported that Vodafone’s Johannes Hummer and Philippe Vogeleer have been working on this deal for over 18 months, together with senior officials of Oman.
