Residential areas in Oman’s capital will be quieter and less noisy during daytime the thanks to Muscat Municipality’s recent decision to ban a set of building activities after hours on certain days.
No more construction works will take place after sunset in Muscat’s residential areas, according to the decision.
Without a prior approval from Muscat Municipality, “drilling, demolition, and construction works are not allowed between sunset and sunrise, on Fridays and during public holidays in residential neighbourhoods,” the decision stated.
The ruling was issued by HE Eng. Muhsin Al Sheikh, Chairman of Muscat Municipality on March 18, 2019.
