Tobacco, alcohol, energy drinks, and soft drinks will cost more as of June 2019, following His Majesty’s Royal Decree issued on Wednesday, March 13, which approved the proposed selective tax.

The tax will increase the price of “unhealthy” products by 100 per cent, such as tobacco products, alcohol, and energy drinks.

A 50 per cent tax will apply on fizzy soft drinks too as per the new rule.
