Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) will create 21,000 job, training, transfer, and redeployment opportunities this year in Oman, the company revealed today.
The opportunities will be announced throughout the year through press and social media, according to Abdul-Amir Al Ajmi, External Affairs and Value Creation Director at PDO.
In an exclusive interview with Y’s sister radio station Al Wisal FM, Al Ajmi said: “We will cooperate with the government, private sector and our contractors, and will announce the vacancies for each sector through social media and press.”
The news comes as a blessing for thousands of Omani job seekers who took to social media in January to voice frustration over “lack of job opportunities”.
PDO has already created more than 55,000 job, training, transfer, and redeployment opportunities for Omanis in both the oil and non-oil sectors, such as hospitality, real estate, fashion and aviation, since the launch of the company’s National Objectives programme in 2011.
Petroleum Development Oman LLC is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman that delivers a majority of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply.
