There’s a saying that goes: “Not all heroes wear capes.” That stands true in the case of three Indian expats who risked it all to protect theft from a mall in Oman.

And it doesn’t stop there either. The expats have been honoured by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) for their efforts in stopping the crime from being occurred in Al Batinah.

According to authorities, “The expats assisted police officers in the arrest of two suspects accused of theft in a mall.”

In a statement, ROP officials said: “The Department of Criminal Investigation at Al Suwaiq police station arrested two people on charges of vandalism and theft from a commercial centre in the wilayat. The suspects managed to enter a mall by breaking a glass door.”

The suspects were reportedly found with the stolen money and the tools used to commit the crime.

The Indian nationals were honoured by Brig. Abdullah Al Ghailani, the chief of police of Al Batinah Governorate. He also thanked the residents for their cooperation, stressing that the “recognition comes within the framework of the Police General Command’s keenness to strengthen cooperation between citizens and residents, and security forces”.
