Oman has issued a safety warning to its citizens staying in Mumbai, following a workers strike that will be held in the city today.
The strike will be held from 6am until 9pm today.
The strike organised by the Maratha community in Mumbai is demanding written assurance of Maratha reservation, with a time-bound programme for fulfilling it.
“The Sultanate’s Consulate in Mumbai calls on its citizens who are currently in Mumbai to take precautions on Thursday, August 9, 2018 because of the workers’ strike throughout Mumbai and demonstrations in the public streets from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The consulate advises its esteemed citizens to stay in their homes,” Oman’s Consulate in Mumbai said in a statement issued online.
