There is a significant drop in accident rate across Oman in July, according to a new data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). Only 215 accident cases were reported in July this year (40.4% compared to last year). However, 52 per cent of road accidents occurred at night.
According to the NCSI data, the fatalities in road traffic accidents stood at 42, of which 33 were Omanis and nine were expatriates. 28.4 per cent accident cases were reported in Muscat, followed by Dhofar at 17.2 per cent, Dakhiliyah at 11.2 per cent, and North Batinah at 10.7 per cent.
