This iconic fort in Oman has opened its doors to visitors again

Oman’s iconic Muttrah Fort opened its doors again to the public, last week, during the Eid Al Fitr holidays. The fort was undergoing extensive renovations for most parts of last year.

On the momentous occasion, the Ministry of Tourism, tweeted: “The Ministry of Tourism will open the doors of the Muttrah Fort to visitors on Monday the 18th after its restoration and renovation.”

The fort currently consists of three circular towers: One sitting atop the summit and the remaining smaller two that are located at the first point in the West, and the other, which still houses one of the iconic and memory-laden old cannons, to the north of the fort near the large tower.
