Russia crush Saudi Arabia in 2018 World Cup opener

Hosts Russia took the first game against rivals Saudi Arabia by five goals. The team maintained control of the match from the kick-off, and then went on to take the lead in the 12th minute.



The lead was further strengthened courtesy a 43rd minute goal by Cheryshev to give Russia a 2-0 advantage. The following goals were scored by Artem Dzyuba, Aleksandr Golovin and then Cheryshev in stoppage time.
