Quriyat has just broken a new record… and you won’t believe why!

If you thought that the temperature in Muscat was high, then take a listen to the new record that Quriyat has just broken: The coastal town has been recorded with the highest minimum (low) temperature for the longest period of time.

The town sits on top of the charts after recording the highest “minimum” temperature in known history on Tuesday [26 June, 2018]. It clocked in a low temperature of 42.6 degrees Celsius.

The previous high-minimum temperature record for any 24-hour period was also held by Oman at 41.9 degrees Celsius, which was in the whereabouts of the Khassab Airport in Oman on June 27, 2011.
