Oman’s Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has sentenced an expatriate to three months in jail, in addition to being fined RO 2,000 for selling used tyres.
The PACP received a complaint from a consumer who stated that a store sold him used tyres for the price of a new one. An employee from the administration visited the establishment and confirmed the report.
“A number of used tyres that were on display were seized and destroyed. The man was charged for violating the consumer protection law and a court sentenced the defendant to three months in prison and fined him OMR 2,000,” said a statement from PACP
