Cooking delicious dishes using vegetables freshly picked from your backyard is a great experience. And if you are looking for some good ideas to prepare your own manure, read on

You start respecting nature more when you grow your own vegetables. You can make your own manure required for your plants from your kitchen. A little effort will give you fresh, organic vegetables grown on your own balcony or terrace.

Make a wet waste compost pile consisting of peels of vegetables, fruit, garden leaves, egg shells and used tea leaves from your kitchen. The only thing you will need from outside is cow dung which has to be added to the above to complete nutrient requirement. It takes around two months for the compost to be converted into usable manure for plants.

You can grow plants that help to purify and balance your atmosphere and to remove pollutants from the air. Some of the plants that do this are peace lily, anthurium, holy basil, snakeplant, jasmine and aloe vera. The flowering plants give happiness to your eyes with their burst of colours.

You can grow vegetables like curry leaves, garlic, lemon, chillies, capsicum, tomatoes, potatoes and various fruits. Every garden requires nutrition, and this comes through compost.
