A vehicle dealer in Nizwa who failed to repair a faulty bus after it was sold to the customer was jailed for six months and fined RO 1,000 by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP).
In a statement issued on Sunday, the PACP said the bus owner had complained that the streering was not balanced and that smoke and oil was coming from the wheels. “When he returned it for repair, the garage failed to fix the problem,” PACP said.
The PACP took the vehicle dealer to court after receiving a complaint from the purchaser.
The Court of First Instance in Nizwa issued judicial verdicts against the defendant for violating the Consumer Protection Law.
