Canadian-born chef Ayesha Curry’s culinary skills with all things Caribbean didn’t happen by accident.

The 28-year old celebrity cook grew up with a Jamaican grandmother, who passed on to her the pearls of wisdom gleaned from years of catering to often large families and their needs.

But even Ayesha still has to come up with new, wholesome and delicious meals to bring to her table.

When seeking inspiration, her Jamaican heritage comes to the fore and that starts with managing the mango.

Mango is the world’s most popular fruit and an integral ingredient in many cuisines across the globe. While its sweetness and versatility make it the perfect addition to any dish, it is delicious on its own or when included in spicy dishes.

At 100 calories per cup, mangoes are packed with vitamins and nutrients, and are a good source of fibre.
