Fast Forward: Iftars in Oman

POSTED BY Y Magazine

As the Holy Month of Ramadan is upon us, Iftar is a time to relish sharing food with our family and friends. Here, Alvin Thomas reveals some of the best deals around to ensure that eating during this joyous time is no feast of burden.

It is that time of year that begets giving and expressing love for one another.

This period is also marked by fasting and abstinence, during which time we must refrain from eating or drinking from the hours between Fajr and Maghrib.

During Ramadan, it is a must for Muslims not to consume food, drink alcohol or other liquids or even smoke cigarettes during the day.

After sunset, however, you can break your fast and eat and drink. Over time, the breaking of the fast – better known as Iftar – has become a symbol of Ramadan and is often a time for social gatherings in the evenings, when families, friends and even colleagues get together to enjoy a delicious feast.

We take a look at some of the venues in Muscat offering unique dining experiences that you and your loved ones will relish and cherish during the Holy Month.
